February 1-5, 2010

Hope you've enjoyed the snow! This week is something of an anniversary for me. As of Monday morning (provided there's school) SCS will be my longest term employer. I had the privilege of teaching for Heritage Christian Academy from 1996 to 2003, but I left at the end of January in the 02-03 school year to become the pastor of our church in London. It has been a tremendous pleasure to work for two schools of excellence. I've experienced seeing them grow from small (about 200 students) in borrowed facilities to the larger institutions they are today, each in a beautiful state-of-the-art facility. I'm expecting great things in the future for Christian education!

The weather has made it very difficult to maintain a plan over the last several weeks, and this week will be no exception. Following is the plan, barring inclement weather.

Bible: We will watch the documentary "Expelled" by Ben Stein on Tues-Thursday.

US History: I will have test 12 ready to hand out at the end of class on Monday. We will finish test 13 this week and likely test early next week.

Spanish I: We will finish chapter 5 lesson 12 on Monday, test will be on Wednesday. That is the final lesson in the chapter, meaning that we will take a few days to review and then test over all of chapter 5. Please begin reviewing the chapter immediately!

Spanish II: the next time we have class (ostensibly Monday) we will test over chapter 4, lesson 2. The secion on chapter 4, lesson 3 will only take a few days, so we will test again in about a week.

Remember the merit trip on Friday, Feb 5. Please be at the school at 6:45, ready to roll at 7. We will depart Perfect North at 8:00 PM, meaning an estimated time of return sometime after 11:00. More info available in the office. Thanks!

  1. Well congratulations on your long-term employment. Now, if the school has to fire people due to a shrinking budget you will be one of the last ones to go. Anyway I just saw a news flash on the TV saying we are closed Monday.

  2. During class you mentioned you were having problems with the terkel interviews. I personally have experienced my computer problems with many defrint things. MY microsoft Office keps on crassing and other very weid things happen. Almost as if it was possed. It turns itself on during the middle of the night. Any way your problem could lie whitin numerous things. Weirdly I can download the file without real player.

-Have you checked if your using the right country.
-Is real player enabled in program manager.
-Is it enabled in your web browser.
-Are you saving the file and not clicking run when you download it.
-Are you downloading the file to a folder Real PLayer is set to read.
-Does your webbrowser have a Real player bar.
-Have you tried to reinstall real player.
-Is their an antivirus or firewall blocking the program.
-Is Real PLayer set to run at startup.
-Have you checked the troubleshooting section of real player( if they don't have one, did you google your problem.)
-Are you using an updated browser.
-IF you are using Internet explore 7 try to update to 8.
-If all else fails try to download on another computer.

These are not all of the solutions and do not pretrain to just Real player.
