Hello everyone, and welcome back from the weekend! This is the first week of the second quarter, and all classes are up to date and moving along very well - we've got the makings of a very good year! Here's a look at the week ahead:
Bible class: this week the 11th grade will host chapel on Friday morning at 8:15. As always, but especially this week, all of you parents are invited to attend as our guests! We will be using class time this week to prepare for our opportunity to lead.
US History: This week's homework assignment is posted and should present a nice challenge for everyone. This is an opportunity to research the Supreme Court and to learn about the important topic of civil liberty. In class we will finish our documentary on the post-Civil War presidents and finish lecture for Test 7. I anticipate that the test will be given next Monday or Tuesday.
Spanish I: A special treat starting this week - Sra. Rosa will visit class to help us with conversational skills and share information about her native Mexico. The senora will be visiting us on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the next month or so, and will surely be a great benefit to learning Spanish! I'll hand back your tests from Friday (everyone in the class passed - great job, guys!) and we'll begin chapter 3, lesson 5, which begins on page 44. Vocab quizzes will be given every day, and we should be ready for our next test by the end of the week.
Spanish II: Sra Rosa will also be visiting Spanish II, but first we must take the test over chapter 2, section 2. We'll begin chapter 2, section 3, and be forewarned...it's going to take some extra effort! We'll do more irregular verbs and introduce the present progressive construction. Vocab quizzes every day!
ACT Prep kicks off this week, and we'll be spending most of this week taking a pre-test and discussing resources that are available and will be used over the coming quarter.
Vlogs have been posted on the history website under the fall break posting. They are excellent and educational! When all of them have been digitized we'll use them for a history assignment. Looking forward to great things everyone! God bless!
