March 25-29, 2013

It's March Madness as we race toward Spring Break!  Give this a try - can you say the words "spring break" without smiling?  Me neither.  Here's a look at the week ahead:

Bible:  Lessons 39 and 40 will be due on Wednesday.

Spanish I and II:  follow your class calendars.

AP World History:  DBQ is due Monday.  We will spend the remainder of the week doing a review of African History.

World History:  Test Tuesday.

Arts and Humanities:  come prepared to paint!

March 11-15, 2013

How was that for a beautiful weekend!  Here's a look at the week ahead:

Bible:  Lessons 35-36.  We'll be discussing the Old Testament books of prophecy. 

Spanish I and II: Follow your calendars exactly!

World History:  We'll try to finish the unit by the end of the week so we can test early next week.

AP World History:  Lessons 31 and 32 this week.

Arts and Humanities:  Please bring your money ($5) so we can begin our painting!

March 4-8, 2013

The fourth quarter!  It's a mad rush from here to the finish.  Here's a look at the week ahead:

Bible:  Lessons 33-34 will be due Wednesday.

Spanish I: Due to interruptions last Friday and this Monday (special assembly) the calendar will be adjusted.  Please be prepared for a test on Tuesday (you already have the review; if not, please see a classmate).  There will also be an assignment due Wednesday that will allow us to recover some lost time (we've already previewed the new grammar and vocabulary).

Spanish II: Follow your class calendar.

AP World History:  Follow your quiz/test schedule.  Your third essay is due on Wednesday.

World History:  Test Monday.  Remember to keep up with your online homework assignments.

Arts and Humanities:  This week we will go over your research projects and reintroduce "The Cremation of Sam McGee."

I will be out Tuesday (although I will be in the building).  Please be on your best behavior for the substitute.

February 25-March 1 2013

Don't look now but the third quarter is almost over!  Here's a look at the week ahead:

Bible:  On Monday we'll work on Lesson 32.  The remainder of the week will be devoted to an open-book unit test.

Spanish I and II:  Follow your calendar.

World History:  We'll attempt to finish the current chapter and test by Friday.

APWH:  Test Monday (Unit 9), Quiz Tuesday (28), essay due Wednesday, and another quiz Friday (29)

Arts and Humanities:  Powerpoint due this week!

Back-to-back three day weekends will be hard to beat!  Still, this is an exciting time of year - this week we celebrate Spirit Week at SCS!  Here's a look at the week ahead:

Bible:  Lessons 26-27 due Wednesday.

Spanish I and II:  We will follow the calendar with the minor exceptions resulting from the snow day.  We discussed those in advance and made adjustments; for example, the Spanish II test which was to be given last Friday will be given Monday. 

Arts and Humanities:  Rebel Without a Cause!

World History:  We will finish test 9 material this week - be prepared for a test early next week.

AP World History:  Remember to prepare for quizzes and tests as scheduled in the class calendar.  Stay ahead in your reading!

January 14-18, 2013

If we can make it through this week we have a three-day weekend to enjoy!  Here's a look at the week ahead:

Bible:  Lessons 21 and 22 are due on Wednesday.  Good job on the verse quiz last week everyone!

Spanish I and II: Please follow your calendars very closely.

World History:  Test Wednesday.  Remember to do your online homework!

AP World History:  Quizzes on Tuesday and Friday (Ch 20 and 21).  Next week is a test!

Arts and Humanities:  You Can't Take It With You this week.  I hope you enjoy it!

January 7-11, 2013

Here's a look at the week ahead:

Bible:  We begin our Unit 3 lessons this week with the lessons and verses due on Wednesday.

Spanish I and II: Follow the calendar.  Remember, tests this week!

World History:  We continue our study of the Reformation.  The test will likely be early next week.

AP World History:  We will preview Latin American history this week as well as continue to work on our writing skills.  Quiz Friday.

Arts and Humanities:  We will watch one last film:  Rebel Without A Cause.  I think you will enjoy it and the connected assignment.
