Thus begins one of the most important stretches in the school year - the Thanksgiving to Christmas dash. While the temptation is to take it easy, remember that in no time we'll be facing semester exams, and we have quite a bit to get in before that.
In Bible class we've got a test over Unit 2 (lessons 11 through 18) that we'll take on Tuesday and Wednesday.
In US History, there'll be a test on Tuesday covering the administrations of Teddy Roosevelt, William H. Taft, and Woodrow Wilson. Starting Wednesday we'll take a closer look at the election of 1912 (which is also the genesis of this week's homework assignment).
In Spanish I we'll cover chapter 4, lesson 8 (pages 66-71). It's another short lesson (and all review except for the vocabulary)so we'll be able to finish and test on Friday. We'll be doing all the activities and learning the Spanish numbers to a million.
In Spanish II we'll begin studying chapter 3, lesson 2 (begins page 84). This week we'll attempt to cover through page 92, activity 10. The primary focus is indirect object pronouns (IOPs) and using direct and indirect object pronouns together. We'll have vocabulary quizzes beginning Tuesday and running every day through Friday.
If there are any questions please send me an email. Thanks and God bless!

November 16-20
Here's a look at the week ahead:
Bible: We'll be doing lessons 16 and 17 in class. Remember that there will be a test next week over lessons 11-18 and homework/quiz grades will be given based on bookwork.
US History: We should be able to finish lecture for test 9 and take the test Friday. At least that's the goal, barring any unforseen interuptions.
Spanish I: It's time to get moving! Last week we missed some classes, so we'll have to pick up the pace. Starting with a test on Monday that covers all of chapter 3, we'll go over the material in chapter 4, lesson 7 (all review) and be ready for a (small) test on Friday that covers pages 58-65.
Spanish II: Vocab quizzes Monday-Thursday and a test over chapter 3, lesson 1 on Friday. The grammar we're covering is important: demonstrative adjectives/pronouns (p 76), the relative pronoun (p 77), and uses of the infinitive (p 80). Do yourselves a favor - go back and review direct object pronouns! Next week we'll be working on indirect object pronouns, and you won't want to get them confused.
Sadly, there's been another death in the church that I pastor. I would ask your prayers for the family that has lost both father and mother only eight days apart of unrelated illnesses. I will be missing a day for the funeral - most likely Wednesday. The lesson plans listed above take all of this into consideration. Thank you and God bless!

November 9-13, 2009
This week will, unfortunately, be rather unusual. I will not be in class on Monday or Tuesday due to training I'm taking for next year's AP courses and a funeral. Because there are other issues that might affect my schedule this week as well I am not certain how several classes will go. Here's a basic look at what's ahead:
Bible class will cover two lessons this week - lessons 14 and 15. For perspective, there will be a test after lesson 18, in about two weeks.
Spanish I will be reviewing for a test over chapter 3. I'll need a couple days in class to go over the material, so I'm not certain of the exact day the test will take place.
Spanish II will begin chapter 3. We'll be working on some review verb conjugation and command tense to start with.
US History has wrapped up lecture for test 8. Get yourselves prepared! I anticipate that the test will be on Friday.
I'll repost when I've got more specific information. Looking for a good week!
